The SCR Difference –
Since Pamela and Stanley Rakestraw founded SCR in 1986, they have brought to the company their own philosophy which has governed the rapidly expanding organization all the way to the present.

In order to motivate employees to treat the customers in the special manner which they deserve, you have to first show your employees that they are important to the organization; so we spend a great deal of time and resources in training our staff to help develop them to buy into our concern that the customer does come first and that the more we respect our customers and provide them the service they deserve, the bigger and faster we’ll grow.

This shows up in the following factors which are recognized within the industry as being special to SCR:

• SCR’s drivers are always polite, always in good uniform, neat, professional
• Our customers have always complimented us for the professionalism and the attitude of our people whenever anyone calls our office
• A major distinction for us has been how we maintain our fleet – our vehicles are well maintained and are cleaned inside and out daily and are detailed every 6 months.
• Customer safety and on-time performance are SCR’s primary concerns and we have excelled in both areas.

We understand that much of this goes to reduce our profit margin which is probably not as good as that of our competitors, but that is not what drives SCR. It’s the relationship that we have with our staff and our customers with the outcome of a quality service that we’re concerned about, and we let everything else handle itself as far as the finances. Being in business for 23 years, transporting an average of about 1 million customers per year over that period and expanding as we have, something has gone right.
